Who are we?
Soul Sister Co was founded by two proud and strong Aboriginal women, Bek Lasky and Ruby Evans.
Bek is a 21 year-old, proud Wakaya woman who was born and raised on Wadawurrung Country. Bek is currently living on beautiful Larrakia Country in Darwin and working full-time as the Deputy CEO for Ngarrimili.
Ruby is a 22 year-old, proud Yorta Yorta woman who was born and raised on Wadawurrung Country. Ruby is a full-time female youth worker for Strong Brother Strong Sister and has a great passion for helping the community.
Soul Sister Co, what does our name represent?
The inspiration for the name Soul Sister Co, came from our deep sisterhood and friendship that we have had for years. Our bond is like no other and we share the same ideas and similar goals. Soul Sister just fit perfectly for our business name and links strongly to our purpose.
What is our purpose and vision?
We were inspired to create Soul Sister Co to empower and motivate other young people, that they are capable of achieving their greatest goals and being successful. Society places so many pressures on young people and our goal is to create a safe space where people can be their own authentic selves without feeling judged.
We both grew up thinking that starting our own business and being successful was extremely out of reach. We want to empower, educate and motivate the community around us to believe that it is achievable.
Our goal is to hopefully one day be able to travel and run our business full-time.
Thank you for visiting our space and we hope to see you again.
Love Bek & Ruby xx
